Updated over 3 months ago

Securing clients and boosting revenue are top priorities for driving sustained growth in your photography business. Smiler has tools that are designed specifically to help you achieve this by transforming potential clients into confirmed bookings with precision and ease.

Beyond just locking in clients, Smiler helps you to maximise each booking with features like flexible payment options, intuitive upselling, and enhanced service offerings. Let’s explore some practical strategies that will help you effortlessly get the most out of every shoot.

Closing Client Enquiries Fast

When you receive a client enquiry, speed and professionalism are key to closing the deal. Here’s how you can use Smiler to secure a booking faster:

Use a Deposit Payment

To increase client commitment and reduce no-shows, you can request a deposit or partial upfront payment. A full upfront payment might feel like a big commitment for some clients. By offering a partial upfront payment options, you reduce the financial pressure and make it easier for clients to commit to the booking. This deposit not only helps reduce the likelihood of last-minute cancellations but also compensates you for your time if they do cancel.

Depending on you and your client’s preference, you can send a full or partial payment link directly through the ‘Payments’ tab of your Suite. Alternatively, you can direct them to book directly via your Storefront’s Services menu to make the booking process even smoother!

Stay on Top of Your Schedule

Once the payment is confirmed, you should add the booking appointment to your Suite using the 'Bookings' tab. This way, you can keep all your bookings centralised, with appointments synced to your calendar, and make it super easy to manage your schedule and follow up with clients.

And the best part? After the shoot, you can easily send the photos to your client in a mobile-friendly gallery and effortlessly keep track of their status, all in one place.

Maximising Your Earnings with Smiler’s Tools

Increasing your revenue from each client is just as important as attracting new ones for building a sustainable photography business. Once you’ve secured a booking, you can leverage Smiler’s tools that are specifically designed to help you capitalise on every shoot while keeping your clients happy.

Offer Extra Services

Increase your revenue by offering add-ons like express photo delivery. For clients who need their photos faster, you can charge a premium for same-day or next-day delivery. This helps you differentiate yourself from the competition, meet client demands, and add a new revenue stream.

Flexible Payment Options

Secure bookings with deposits or partial upfront payments to ease client concerns and lock in appointments. It also provides a safeguard against last-minute cancellations, making sure that you’re always compensated for your time.

Thoughtful Upselling Through Services and Galleries

Smiler’s Storefronts feature lets you easily showcase and upsell additional services. Whether it's offering extended photo sessions, extra photos, or locations, having these options visible during the booking process encourages clients to upgrade their packages. This can significantly increase the total revenue per client without requiring extra marketing efforts.

Additionally, you can use Client Galleries to quickly create an upselling opportunity by selecting your client's gallery and clicking 'Extra Gallery.' From there, you can choose the pricing and upload your pictures in just 5 clicks. Simple as that!

Special Add-Ons & Premium Services

Premium editing services like black-and-white conversions, background removal, or advanced retouching can be a significant revenue booster. These services allow you to offer a more personalised product which clients are often willing to pay extra for.

Offering special add-ons like themed props (flowers, balloons, or other accessories) can make shoots more memorable and unique! These small touches can make all the difference. It’s often an easy upsell that improves the client’s while boosting your earnings. Clients appreciate the extra effort and creativity, which often leads to higher satisfaction and potentially more referrals as well.

Effective Communication

Effective communication is the backbone of client satisfaction, especially in the photography business. As a photographer, your clients often trust you to capture some of the most important moments of their lives. To meet and exceed their expectations, it’s important that they feel heard, understood, and well-informed throughout the entire process.

Clear communication helps ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the style, timing, location, and even the final delivery of the photos. That's why, your Bookable Services include everything clients need to know like the length of the shoot or the number of shots included in the package. That way you can prevent misunderstandings and disappointment down the line.
