Once your account setup is complete, you can claim customer photoshoots.
Payments for all photoshoots are processed weekly, encompassing the entire preceding week (Monday to Sunday). For example, if you had photoshoots during the week, the total amount, minus our 20% commission and any relevant booking fees from partner platforms (such as GYG or Viator, depending on the travel provider booked), will be transferred to you the following week, typically hitting your bank account between Wednesday to Friday (depending on your bank).
The Smiler photographer app will show the exact amount you will receive both before you claim the booking and afterwards at the Earnings tab in the app.
If you engage in upselling by offering additional photos for purchase, the same process applies. Payment for all purchased photoshoots from the past week will be included with the payment for booked sessions from the previous week.
Our 20% commission also applies to upselling, but you have the flexibility to set the price for individual photos and entire packages according to your preferences.
In order to receive payments, you have to fill out your payment details. Go to the account section:
Add payment details and payout address
Select the currency in which you would like to receive payments
There are different payment methods for each country and currency, choose the one you need.
Also, don’t forget to indicate if you are a person or a business, if you have a VAT number, add it in the field.
To closely track your earnings, navigate to the "My Earnings" section, where you can gain comprehensive insights into each client's interaction with your photos.
Monitor whether the client has received the photos, viewed them, and completed the payment. This detailed overview allows you to stay informed about the entire transaction process and ensures transparency in your photography business on Smiler.
Fixed flat fee
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the Smiler experience, we have established a special fixed fee arrangement with some photographers, primarily those based in the USA.
If you fall into the category of photographers under this arrangement, your payment structure will be as follows:
You will receive a fixed flat fee for your Smiler photoshoots.
The fixed flat fee is set at a rate based on our default revenue split model.
When you navigate to the My Earnings tab, you will see the default photoshoot payments. The variance in your actual earnings, based on the special fixed fee arrangement, will be reflected in your Balance. You can find this amount by clicking on 'balance'.
Using the example above, here's how it will appear:
In My Earnings: $75 will be displayed.
In your Balance: An additional $75 will be visible to make up the total of $150 as per the fixed flat fee arrangement. This extra $75 will be transferred in the next payment cycle (next week).
Just keep in mind that the additional $75 will be processed in the next payment cycle, completing your flat fee payment.
